What is Castor Oil?

Castor oil is a vegetable oil derived from the seeds of the castor bean plant, scientifically known as Ricinus communis. Castor oil has a pale yellow color and a distinct, mild odor. One of its key components is ricinoleic acid, a fatty acid known for its anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties. Castor oil has been used for various purposes for centuries, both topically and internally.
